AWAYDAYS: Tunbridge Wells v Fisher – Tue 5 April 22
No time to take a breather from saturday’s whirlwind we’re all ready and set to take the trip down to Tunbridge Wells this tuesday for our re-arranged date from February’s cancelled fixture. Tunbridge Wells are one of the best supported clubs in the league and always bring a hefty crew with them when they visit St Paul’s – let’s return the favour and make sure we make our presense felt under the lights at Culverden Stadium.
HOW TO GET THERE
The Royals play their home games at Culverden Stadium which is located in the rolling countryside just north of Tunbridge town centre nestled in the picturesque High Weald (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), 30 miles or so from south London in Kent
CAR
Lot of different potential routes out of London – A20 (Sidcup Road), A2 (East Rochester Road), but eventually you hit M25 heading towards Sevenoaks. You need to turn off M25 at junction 5 (the Chevening Interchange) and onto the Sevenoaks Bypass (A21) going towards Tonbridge. Then onto London Road (A26) following the sign for Tunbridge Wells. Just as you approach the town centre on St John’s Road take a right turn onto Culverden Down which will take you to the ground.
TRAIN
Closest station to the ground is Tunbridge Wells. Cheapest fare from London is £18.30 – Super Off-Peak Day Return, (only valid at specific off-peak times of the day) and the journey time is just under an hour with no changes. Check here for times and ticket purchases: https://www.thetrainline.com/
From the station it’s less than 1.5m walk to the ground. There’s a number of taxi services that operate outside the station. Here’s a list of options and phone numbers: https://www.google.com/maps/search/tunbridge+wells+station+taxis/@51.1286828,0.2643315,17.04z
BUSES
No buses to the ground, a good healthy walk or taxi are the options

THE FORM
We’ve been getting into the habit of rising to the occasion when we take on teams above us in the league. The Royals sit a comfortable 8th place are generally very solid in front of their home crowd which is why a noisy away support (which they rarely get at Culverden) could tip the game in our favour. After saturday’s storming 6 goal thriller with Hollands & Blair you can tell the Fish want the win at all costs – bags of youhtful energy and enthusiam, if we can harness that potential then there’s nothing to limit us.
