FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round: Saturday 17th Sept – Welling United v Fisher

As FA Cup runs go this has got to be an all time great for The Fish. Already we’ve played 6 games to get us this far beating Step 4 side (in an away replay!) and now facing another step 4 club away from home. It’s been a journey. And that journey continues albeit a short hop over to Welling this Saturday for what is going to be a South London Battle Royale with neither teams wanting to go out of the competition at this stage.

HOW TO GET THERE

CAR
If you are travelling from anywhere other than Kent, take the M25 to Junction 2. At the roundabout, take the A2 towards Central London. Leave the A2 at the third exit (Danson Interchange, signposted A221 to Bexleyheath and Sidcup). Turn right (second exit) at the roundabout at the end of the slip road, and then turn right (third exit) at the next roundabout. Go under the A2 bridge and up the slope to another roundabout. Take the second exit and follow the road (Danson Road) to the traffic lights at the end. Turn left at the lights onto Park View Road. The ground is on the left. There is no car park, but plenty of street parking is available.

TRAIN
Nearest station to the ground is Welling on Southeastern trains. Off-peak trains leave half hourly from both London Victoria and London Charing Cross (also calling at Waterloo East and London Bridge). From the station, go down the slope to the road at the bottom. Turn left and go to the end of the road. Turn left onto Bellegrove Road. This becomes Welling High Street and then Park View Road. The ground is on the right just after the Guy, Earl of Warwick pub; it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk.

If you wish to go by bus, numbers 89, 486 and B16 run past the ground from the station.

BUSES
From Lewisham you can catch 89 towards Bexleyheath
From North Greenwich you can catch 486 towards Bexleyheath. All buses stop at the Guy, Earl Of Warwick just across the road from the ground.
